communication skills

I have an ee who is in a position where they need to be able to communicate both orally and in writing. The problem is the employee rights and speaks in fragments. The use of, for lack of a better term, country, southern slang, is prevalent in both formats. Any suggestions?

  • They "right" and speak in fragments, huh? x:D Sorry, I couldn't resist. I would talk to them about it and find out what their skill level really is (or if they are just being lazy). If the latter is true, let them know what the expectations of the job are (do they have a copy of their job description?). If this person really doesn't have much skill in writing and speaking using business English, I would send them to a good old fashioned class - one that meets more than one time like at a community college.
