military duty

good people:
a recruit firefighter must have successfully complete one year of recruit firefighter training to be promoted to next level.

military duty called one of the recuits for 6 weeks. am i correct in claiming that the 6 weeks of military duty does NOT count towards the one year of required training?

any help would make my life easier today.

thanks in advance.

  • certification processes are not affected by time away for military duty. i assume the recruit training requirement is mandated by the state or is a job necessity based on sound firefighting principles. the employee will be allowed to return to his original position and recommence training from where he was when called for duty.

  • thank you (again) mr. irby.
the employee was only gone for 90 days and will be allowed to continue his training when he returns and get promoted upon completion of the training.
