If a full time employee is out on sick leave and has exhausted all her sick and vacation time do we still pay her for holidays. We do not have enough employees for FMLA.
With no written policy on how you handle these type of situations, then you must look at your past cases. If you have paid others then your action is to pay this one. Our corporate policy states, "one must work the day before and the day after a holiday in order to get paid for the holiday" unless on an approved leave of absences, which "sick absent" does not fall within this category. Sorry but, if you want to be awarded a holiday pay one must follow the company rule. No rule, then follow your past history, no past history, let the owner decide the first case and then act from there!

Our policy states employees on unpaid leaves will not be paid for holidays until their status changes back to active.
I hope this helps.
