Records retention in New Mexico

Help! Does anyone out there know how long employers are required to keep employment records in New Mexico?

    Don't know about NM law, but federal law has a long list of documents to retain for certain periods. If you're an Employment Law Letter subscriber, login at the Subscribers Area of this website ([url]www.HRhero.com/lc/[/url]) and search for the article "Don't toss those records quite yet" (Wisconsin Employment Law Letter, Oct. '02).

    If that's not enough information, look in the book HR Quick List ([url]http://www.HRhero.com/hrquicklist.shtml[/url]). I wrote a section called "You want to clean up personnel files" because I couldn't find a checklist that really touched all of the bases.
