Product Development Manager

I was wondering if anyone had a job description for a Product Development Manager or Sales-Marketing Manager which includes new product development in that job description. And if so, would you share?

    Summary Manages and facilitates the product development process from concept through product launch, maintaining a focus on identifying and meeting market requirements and achieving corporate business and profit objectives by performing the following duties.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    Interfaces with sales staff and customers to identify strategic market requirements.

    Monitors and evaluates competitive products.

    Develops marketing functional product specifications, including desired features, functionality, cost and schedule goals.

    Reviews engineering feasibility studies and design specifications.

    Acts as liaison with various departments to facilitate the development process.

    Monitors the product development process.

    Coordinates Beta testing through subordinate staff.

    Finalizes product specifications and reviews final engineering documentation.

    Interacts with marketing communications staff to develop collateral literature and application notes.

    Interfaces with sales staff to finalize pricing and ordering information.

    Coordinates the training of sales, technical support and customer service personnel through subordinate staff.

    Monitor product sales and customer feedback throughout the product life cycle.

    Coordinates product improvements and enhancements.

    Generates certificates of origin as required.

    Ensures NAFTA compliance.

    Ensures ISO 9001 compliance on all product development programs.

    Oversees the Product Sustaining Process for core products.

    Exercises responsibility for the sales forecasting process for all access control cards.

    Participates as active member of HID's ISO Steering Committee.

    Provides quotes as requested.

    Education and/or Experience
    Must possess a B.S. degree preferably in a technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    Must possess 8 to 10 years experience in marketing of access control products

    Language Skills
    Must be able to effectively communicate in the English language, verbally and in writing.
    Must be able to read and interpret technical journals, specifications, etc.

    Mathematical Skills
    Must be able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, etc.

    Reasoning Ability
    Must possess good analytical skills
    Must possess persuasive and negotiating skills.

    Computer Skills
    Must be proficient in MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.
    Must e familiar with operating systems, such as Windows, etc.
