Tart burners in the office

About a year or two ago we had the challenge of everyone wanting to burn candles in the office. We issued a rule that this was a "no-no" due to the open flame. Now we have a new issue, electric tart burners. It seems to be a trend and even though it does help the fragrance throughout the office we have employees with allergies, asthma, etc. that have started to complain about the effect it has on them. Any thoughts on this particular problem??

If management want to ban the tart burners, they can ban the tart burners. No explanation is required. If it happened here, I'd ban them.

What the heck is a tart burner? I thought a tart was something you bought at a bakery, or, possibly a young woman. Why would anyone want to burn either?

I am not sure what a tart burner is but I will say this, any type of fragrance or smoke can trigger an asthma attack. I would ban whatever they are if people are complaining for medical reasons.

A tart burner is a ceramic holder that is used to heat up the bottom of a candle or fragrant disc. The tart is the candle or disc. And they certainly do not belong at work. Too many smells together is gross and if it is harmful to other employees with asthma, thay gotta go, case closed.

Anything that puts out a strong fragrance should be banned from the office. If there is an odor problem, there are several sprays on the market that can be used to eliminate odors without using a fragrance.

We, also, have had multiple problems with strong candles, potpourri, lotions, air fresheners, etc.

Reminds me of way back in my past when I was a cashier in a grocery store during college days. This was the early 70's so smoking was not a problem in stores. Some guy came to my register smoking a cigar. It smelled just like a baby's messy diaper. Phew!!

Spread some limburger cheese on the bottom of those tart burners. That ought to take care of the problem.

You should also think about the fact that these tart burners hold HOT WAX. If allowed to continue and someone gets burned you are looking a Work Comp claim.
