I'm getting ready to present an "HR Top 10 List" to our officers at our annual corporate meetings. What, in your opinion, is the "hottest" HR issue we're dealing with today? The presentation is only going to be about 15 minutes.

I agree what health care is #1. You can get some good information and trends from the Kaiser Foundation (nothing to do with Kaiser the HMO). It's scary. I think a good addition is retention - what's the point of hiring people like mad if it has to be done over and over - that is a good entre into the need for management training.

Ours, like others, is the rising cost of health care, downsizing, which encompasses fair severance packages as well as the impact on the morale of those left behind. We also have absenteeism issues.

15 minutes - yikes! Thats not a lot of time.
