What does your trainer work?

Hello, eveyone.

We started a training department this year and currently have one trainer. I know she needs help and we have plenty of work to do for a second trainer. However, my boss isn't so sure. Is 80 hours of classroom training per month, too much or too little? What is the average classroom training of other trainers?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

  • I can't speak with first hand knowledge since most of our training is conducted by supervisors or management. However, I have a contact that has been a training coordinator for a large manufacturing company and he just advised that his trainers average 24 hours a week in the classroom and the other 16 in planning and preparation. He voiced that 80 hours per month would be on the bottom side of acceptable classroom time for his company but went on to say that it would somewhat be industry dependent. Hope this might be a starting point for you.
