Giving out Social Security #

Today is my day for questions... We have a contract with PacBell and they want our drivers that have to go on their site to have an ID badge that they will be given. However, they are requesting us to give them the names of the drivers along with their social security numbers. What 'cha think...is that ok?

Yes, it's OK for them to ask. But I would never in hell comply with the request. SSNs should never be on ID badges, or personal checks or anything else, readily visible.

All employees have id numbers assigned by payroll. I agree with Don D, never should a social security number be on id cards, checks, insurance cards etc.
