Pagers 24/7

Supervisors have to have their pager on them 24/7. If they are going out of town, (even just to shop) they must call their manager to let them know. They must do this even when they are not on their scheduled on call weekend. Have our managers gone overboard? These supervisors are classified exempt. Are their any FLSA laws that require any form of payment for these supervisors?

If they have a pager why do they have to inform the supervisor where they are going? If you have a restriction that requires them to appear somewhere after a page you may have to notify a supervisor but if all they are required to do is make a phone call (in response to the page) it should not matter where they are.
