OSHA policies

Was wondering how far you all go with this. We are a small (38 ee's) company which, with the help of our insurance company, is writing several policies to handle OSHA requirements. Two areas of our plant have tested over 85dBA in noise exposure, but none are at 90. By choice, we are going to require earplugs that will bring the noise exposure below 85 when working at these two machines. OSHA policy suggests that we need to do annual hearing tests for employees. I'd love a sense of how many of you actually do hearing tests on an annual basis.... Thanks!

Our company is a manufacturer and in our Woodshop (about 18 people total), we do annual testing.

We are a manufacturing facility with 210 employees and we do annual hearing tests.

Manufacturing facility with several hundred. We do the annual testing. Didn't know we had a choice. Also required to post to the OSHA 300 those who meet certain threshhold on these hearing tests. Violations serious.

We are also a manufacturing facility with about 100 factory employees. We do mandatory annual testing for all factory employees as well as any "office" employees who spend a significant amount of time in the plant.

We ara a manufacturing facility with 92 ee's and we test everyone every year no matter what their exposure level is. We also do dosimeter tests in the plant every three years or when there is a major change in the process.

Our facility has several distinct areas, some test high in db's and some are low. We test the ee's assigned to high noise areas annually, but not those assigned to low noise areas, unless they periodically work in high noise areas. We also test the various plant areas annually to determine if we need to expand the testing program to new areas.
