Figure someone will know this quickly (what? me research?) Did the Skelly case ever get into the federal court system, or is it controlling only in California?

    Google.com works great. Type "skelly case", try first selection that pops up.
    California Supreme court ruled that California er must notify ee, in writing, of disciplinary action before imposition of the action. I beleive this ruling applies to Calif. only. HR is hard enough, I'm glad I'm not in Calif.

    It's my understanding that Skelly only applies to public ee's in CA. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I almost fell out of my chair when I read the above post! :)

    Skelly hearings are for public employees in Ca. only. The process is nothing more than documented due process steps. Some public agencies have lengthy skelly procedures, others more abbreviated. It all started with poor Dr. Skelly who got fired without due process. I forget the rest.
