Paying EAP person base plus commission

We are trying to create a new pay system for our EAP Manager. We want to create a pay structure where she receives a base salary plus commission based on sales of new EAP business. I was wondering if anyone else has such a pay system for an EAP position. If so, how does it work? Are you happy with the way it is working?
