Cost Cutting Measures

One of the ideas under discussion is requesting a voluntary reduction of hours. Does anyone have an agreement that ees sign? My concern is that by drawing up an agreement we would create a contract of sorts, especially as we expect this to be a temporary arrangement.

Any thoughts from organizations that have tried this method of reducing costs would be greatly appreciated. Particularly how it applies to exempt employees.

I'm probably not much help because we haven't done this with exempt employees, but I do know of companies that have made everyone in the company cut back their hours to 4 days a week or six hour days and the exempt employees all took a pay cut (certain percentage).
