Applicant Information (TMI)

Currently, I'm recruiting for a director level position in our company. As typical, I've been flooded with resumes. One problem we probably all deal with at one time or another, is too much information given by the applicants. In one resume sent to me today the applicant tells me he is married and he has children and their ages. In the past, I've had applicants tell me their height and weight as if that makes them more qualified for the position.

I'm looking for ideas on how others have handled situations like this where an applicant tells you more than you legally can ask.
