Your picture on the box of "Running with the Big Dogs," puts you at, what, Margaret? 23? 24? How could you have been around when it was "Personnel?" x;-)
Time to change my previous response (although after the confederate flag brouhaha, I am not so sure). The answer is the same person who came up with freedom fries, freedom toasts etc.
And the people who came up with all those other PC phrases... however, I think they could have done better than "Freedom" fries -- talk about lame! The French are probably laughing their collective heads off. x:D
In response to the French not backing the US some food and beverage organizations have renamed their "french fries" to "Freedom fries". What do we now call our Belgium waffles?
Actually when the US House of Representatives cafeteria renamed them Freedom Fries, the French response was that French Fries were from Belgium, originally, so I guess we'll call the Belgian Waffle the Freedom Waffle?????
I'm still wanting to know if Republicans are supposed to be stealing lunch money or coming up with the term "human resources." Also, I thought the whole "freedom" thing was a little over the top. So do I "freedom" kiss my honey good-night now? All this does is give 'em the attention they want anyway. I think we should come up with our own name for what we do..something that incorporates a jack-of-trades, lawyer, counselor, mentor, trainer, teacher, enforcer, and referee...
How about Director of All Things Warm, Fuzzy, And Yet Strategic Who Keeps Your Organizational Butt Out Of Court And Yet Is Accused Of Producing No Real Revenue However Is Always The First One Called Whenever There Is A Staff Issue That Needs To Be Fixed

Since I report directly to the owner of the company, I have been called the Vice-Principal! I like Paul's best, though! Pretty much sums up my world...
No, I recommend that you NOT 'freedom kiss' your husband goodnight if you are serious about wanting to go to sleep right away. A peck on the cheek will send a clearer message.
HAH! Don, Knowing my husband, if I LOOK at him, he takes it as a chance to get lucky.. must be the "newlywed" thing. Been married a little over a year now..

I'm trying to decide if you're braggin', complainin' or just tellin'.
Personnel is so much easier to say and people understood what it meant. I still find myself explaining what HR stands for or what Human Resources is, mainly to people who only knew it as personnel. I was never in personnel during the time of it's use, but I remember it being called that. I also get the hr magazine Human Capital.
