Employee suffers from headaches

I have recently became responsible for HR duties and have become aware of an employee who has been having us file a copy of his prescription for headaches in his drug testing file. As of recent his supervisor just informed me and fellow office workers that his headaches are so severe he must stop his job (which is a truck driver/grader operator)because he is blinded by the pain and this has been going on for 4 years. He now voices concern for public/employee safety.
I don't know where to start. Please help.
