Jerry Rice, at Oakland, played college ball not 30 miles from my hometown and is a personal friend of mine, although I hate Oakland and I can't imagine Jerry in anything other than San Francisco colors flying off that offensive line. I wanted the Colts in the super bowl since I grew up with Peyton's dad, Archie and played high school ball against him. Brett Favre played his college ball 60 miles south of here at my wife's alma mater. New Orleans is just down the road and I like them 'cause they're the proverbial armpit of the earth as far as underdogs. Steve McNair is a Mississippi quarterback whose momma lives 45 miles south of me. But, my dreams for the Colt's, Green Bay, Tennessee and New Orleans were dashed earlier in the season. I'd like to see Jerry Rice at age 40 win another ring, but I detest the Raiders as an organization of thugs....... SO, Gruden and his miraculous Buccaneers have my nod this weekend. Bucs by eleven!! 31 to 20.
