Layoff Assistance Packages?

The organization that I currently work for is discussing potentially laying off 4 of our employees in the next month. We would like to give these employees some assistance if possible. We were thinking of a package that would give them resources to find new employment, career counseling, etc. This would be above and beyond normal paperwork that we would give the employee such as COBRA paperwork, etc.
Has anyone out there had experience with putting together some of these types of packages and what types of information / resources do you put in them for employees who are going to be laid-off? Any assistance / ideas would be welcome. Thank you!

Hope this helps. We find it's a great resources for employees.
We also use Lee Hecht Harrison for outplacement assistance. As HS, the extent of the service is determined by the employee's prior position and/or length of service with the company. Also, this service is usually included in a severence package.
