Performance Evaluation for Director of Public Entity

Being newer to the world of public employment, what are the requirements and some suggestions for conducting the performance evaluation for the Director of a Public entity that reports to a Board of Directors? Can it take place in a closed session? Has anyone found an evaluation form or format that works particularly well?


The Director will have been here one year. It appears it's been 10 years since the Board has conducted a performance evaluation for the Director.
