Criminal Background checks for Health Care workers

Help please! My company uses contract workers to perform some billing functions at a number of medical facilities in So. Carolina. I have just been advised that we must conduct criminal background checks on all workers who are located in any health care facility in So. Carolina. I was told that the state passed this law in Feb. My company is based in Georgia and background checks are required for workers in longterm care facilities but not all health care facilities. Does anyone have any information about the So. Carolina law, if there is one?
