Reason for Termination

Does anyone know if IL law requires an ER to provide a terminated EE a termination reason in writing? I know that here in MN, we must provide one if the EE requests it, in writing, within 15 working days of termination. I am not having much luck with the IL DOL, so any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

I never put a reason for termination in writing. This is not required for unemployment in our state; I feel they are fishing for an attorney to try to take their case (for whatever reason they might have in their mind).
