Threatened with violence at workplace in Indiana

A year ago, I could not complete a task that was outside my realm of expertise and job description. I was then reprimanded in front of seven coworkers where an argument ensued about this task with a Vice President of the company. At his boiling point, he threatened to take me outside suggesting violence. I then left the company premise out of fear that I would be struck, and was then terminated for insubornation for leaving company grounds. I had been a loyal professional employee for three years, and was let go without a severance package as well. The reports of the seven witnesses all corresponded to my account as well. Do I have any grounds for legal action?
