Minors in the workforce (Louisiana)

What is the legal age to employ minors in the manufacturing industry in Louisiana? Are we required to pay minimum wage? Don't want to break any laws.

    Good luck.

Also, if they work more than 5 consecutive hours a day, they are required to have an unpaid off the clock break (this is really the only thing that state minor labor law requires above federal minor labor law). The state DOL really enforces this to a "T". And they are pain to deal with, there was a business in town that had a $52,000 fine imposed on him.

We have been audited by the federal DOL recently which means that we learned A LOT and if you have any questions about minor labor law, please e-mail me.
