Recently we have had a few items stolen from the company. We are considering
installing surveillance equipment. Is it legal to entrap an employee to catch the person responsible.

I'll bet you find out more info. This is a huge are and should not be engaged casually. There are federal as well as state issues that will confront you for surreptitious surveillance and other asorted allegations, altho I know of many states that permit video surveillance when there is a high level of suspicion that an illegal act is occurring. I'd invest some time with an attorney familiar with your state reg's. Good luck.
