No. That's about the only situation that doesn't fit the govenment's safety net.

Yes, House Bill 203 which took effect 3/15/01 prohibits employers from terminating an employee who is a volunteer firefighter or volunteer provider of emergency medical services when that employee misses or is late to work because of an emergency to which the employee was dispatched. If you are not a member of the Ohio Chamber, you can find the statute in the Revised Code under 4113.41. It spells it all out for employers.
