What is your turnover rate?

Hi - As part of our yearly Human REsources Report, we let our hospital board know what our yearly turnover has been. Their question, of course, is how does that compare to other employers? If you're willing to share, I'd like to know what your annual turnover rate is - ours is 17%. We are a not-for-profit hospital. Thanks.

We are a small manufacturer in Texas. 54 active employees. 16% turnover. Average longevity is 5 years.

small bank in Alaska where we have a limited pool of applicants & we compete with the State (& their higher wages) for qualified employees.
Our overall turnover rate for 2001 was 62%. (This includes all terminations except for temp positions) Teller positions (low paid, entry level) turned over 110%.

We're a local government in NC. Ours is around 20%, which I believe is a bit high but understandable since we're a political entity and politics permeates the organization.

Hi - We are a small manufacturer of Silicon Carbide Ceramics, used in the processing of integrated circuits, in Hillsboro, OR. Our parent company is Asahi Glass in Japan, a huge conglomerate world wide. In 2001, we've had 3 lay offs and 6 weeks mandatory unpaid time since July, with 2 weeks of PTO during the holidays. (total of 8 weeks of plant shut-downs to date) Our turn-over rate is 15%. (with lay offs, 110%) In 2000, our turn-over rate was 22%. I have been unsuccessful gathering date from manufacturing companies in the Portland Oregon area. I appreciate the information you all have shared. Anyone out there a manufacturing company in high tech? Thanks!

Being a hospital, your turnover rate is wonderful. We are a large cardiology practice and our rate is around 22%. We have a lot of competition in our area, so people will go from place to place, looking for a better "deal". Most of the time they find our working conditions better than that of a hospital (no nights or weekends. So....whatever you are doing....keep on doing it!

I gotta brag here...we are a manufacturing plant in Iowa with 110 employees, and ZERO turnover for 2001, 2% for 2000! When I used to work for a casino, the turnover rate was 120%! Out of all of the employers I have worked for, casinos have had the highest turnover rates I've ever witnessed. You're doing great for someone in the health care industry. May you find an even lower TO rate in 2002!
