How does your company handle equipment issued to employees for use on business trips? We need a policy for issuing laptop computers to travelling staff.
We issue this type of equipment (e.g. beepers, cell phones, laptops, etc..)to employees as employer property , in much the same manner as if we had an office for them to work, they would have access to that type of equipment. As employer issued property, the employee is responsible for safeguarding the equipment. The employer is responsible for repair & maintenance, technology upgrades etc..... Employees surrender all company property at time of termination and we re-issue the equipment to someone else. We view this as the cost of doing business and needing to have this person "on-the-road/out of the office". Employees who wish to have addt'l equipment that is viewed to be supplemental or not an essential part of their job, may purchase it at their own personal expense.
Yup. Employees sign a universal receipt of company property form (e.g. keys, computers, beepers, phone, etc........)and the form is retained by their supervisor.
Is it possible to see what your form looks like? If so, please fax 501-975-4241 or email to fran.fields@cjrw.com. Does it include conditions of use and maintenance?
Could I also get a copy of your form? Let me know if it's on the Forum somewhere or email/fax to ofalfin3@apci.net or 618/624-4508. Thank you.
I would also like to get a copy of this form to implement the use of some type of tracking system for my employer. Currently, everyone has equipment and no one verifies the equipment is ever accounted for.
