mentors anyone?

not long ago i went to the funeral of the person who gave me my first job out of law school,at the national labor relations board to be precise...it got me thinking about mentoring...i think that saying you've had a mentor is a little too restricting--after all,you can learn much from many...but there are those, such as him,who taught me much early on,which is the most important part of learing any profession, whether the law,hr,medicine...here's something he taught me---whenever i reported on the results of my investigation into an unfair labor charge,he'd say"ok,kid, you got thirty seconds to tell me what happened and what you think we should do"...now that's training...how about you?...regards from texas, mike maslanka,214-659-4668
