Can I continue to offer full time benifits to an employee who wants to reduce his hours by changing him to a salaried position with restricted hours?

  • Yes, you can offer full benefits, but you need to check your summary plan descriptions to find out how many hours an employee must work per week to be eligible to participate in the plans. I have seen plans require as few as 20 hours per week. My company requires an employee to work at least 30 hours per week to be eligible for benefits.
