RIF Age discrimination

I would like to get some feedback on the subject matter of reduction if Force and age discrimination. What should I be aware of. How do I make sure that people are laid for the right reason not because the manager has a personal dislike for an employee Want to make sure that the right people are being laid off.

  • Decide early on how you will implement it. For instance, will it be by skill level, or hire date? If you outline your plan in writing before you begin to lay people off, it will help take the emotions out of the equation, and will definitely remove personality issues.

    Having said that, it is not that usual for an organization to deliberately pick a specific method in order to make sure a difficult employee is included in the layoff. Just be careful of the method you choose, and document your reasons for choosing your method. Then, stick to it.
