We are topped out at 400 hours. Obviously, very generous. It was only capped at all in the last few years cuz the auditors were having fits!!

Try a search on EAP, there have been some other good discussions including price. I would have to disagree with Tallent. .I am a big supporter of EAP's and feel they are worth the money. Employees feel valued and a few sessions can help an employe…

Not related to the insurance issue, but I would be concerned that almost 4 months into the employment, the manager "has yet to address these problems"
-
We allow 1/2 hour increments

I worked for a 501 3 (c) and life insurance equated to one's salary. So everyone's was different. . Never heard of what you are referring to.

They are fortunate. We offer no benefits to part timers other than a small Holiday bonus.

I agree with Linda. The way it is written, you wouldn't be covered if you were off on a days vacation. Could it be active employee?

Our program is quite similar to Hunter's. If the employee leave our employment within 2 years of the college courses, they are required to pay the money back.

LAST EDITED ON 05-06-03 AT 01:28PM (CST)[p]We pay 100% but in another life, we were in your shoes. I would start as small as possible with a lot of education. Am assuming you have no CBA.

Same as Linda. We do pay 100% for the employee, though.

I really like that it is available to all. Even with a school administering it, it would seem there would eventually be some hard feelings.

Call me a cynic, but things that seem too good to be true often are.

Is that the one, though, where some critics said it was a bit cult like and that you pretty much owed your soul to the company? The upside sure sounds great and I do like the value placed on employees.

Where I currently work, paid time off is not considered hours worked, hence one must actually work 40 hours before OT would kick in. At my former place of employment it was part of the CBA. ."Paid leave though not actually time worked shall count a…

You mean I could get paid for testing games?? Sign me up! I would allow the 2 on, and make the effective date later..I would not see it as discrimination. The policy just changed.

Currently we allow upto 17 days for training per year. We have had several people called up and our policy is to "make them whole". . we pay the difference between our wage and the military (if there is one) We did not put a time limit on it. Ver…

We also have a automatic payroll deduction.

We pay 100% LTD and have no STD

I agree with Don. During our last brush with a hurricane, it was administrative leave with pay. It was only one day and I suppose there could be a problem if it was "the big one". There were some curmudgeons running around (in HR no less) that fel…

On my way out of town so don't have time and/or knowledge to answer all, but I do know that once you are approved for SSD you are not automatically covered by Medicare. you have to wait 2 years.

I'd take a break from the lunches if it seems no one enjoys them or wants to participate. You might try a small focus group(s) or structured survey to try and solicit employee input/suggestions as how to improve or maybe try something different all…

I was a bit manic the day I was trying to handle all this. . After the fact i did a search of our very own Forum and found some more info. The thread was Cancelling coverage of Cobra paricipant and Don D had talked with Kim Green. . She mentions Si…

I had a former employer who offered a once a year sum to ee who were eligble for family health care benefits, but did not opt to take them. At the time, the employer was paying 100% of benefits. It was in Ohio, part of a CBA and assume it was lega…

Our cost per employee is $275.50 per ee and we pay 100% for them and there is a choice of HMO or PPO. Employees can chose to add spouse only, children only or family. As you know the cost is going sky high and more and more low paid ee were strugg…

You might want to try your local Community Mental Health Center(s)

Nor have I, but might not be a bad idea!

Our senior management has an increased pension benefit over the rest of us. It is a recent thing and has done nothing for morale, but that wasn't the question
