  • We seperate out our reviews from the raises. We give all of our raises on September 30. We do performance reviews twice a year. Once in January and once in July. We do not base our raises on performance, they are based on market rates. Our bonu…

  • If you are not required to have an AAP, you do not have to track unsolicited applications/resumes. Generally we keep all applications for 1 year and interviewed applicant for 2 years. We consider an application an applicant if they are applying fo…
  • Thanks everyone for all the great feedback. My gut instinct said this was not discrimination but thought I would check with my fellow Forumaniacs.

  • I have some experience in this area. I think your going to start running into this behavior more and more. Constant monitoring seems to always lead to low morale. Think about how all this monitoring is helping productivity. Probably not very much…

  • Earlier I posted that our policy clearly states that ee that have exposure to customers must cover their body art. I just wanted to add the most of our employees are not visibly exposed to customers because customers are not allowed to wonder in ou…
  • Don? Whats the deal? I have a tatoo as posted above. Just because I don't believe religious minorities or homosexuals or anyone for that matter should be descriminated against in the work place does not mean I am irrational. We do allow employees …
  • Our policy specifically addresses employees who have contact with customers. Our policy states that if you will have contact with customer body art must be concealed. No one seems to complain.
  • I must confess that I have a shamrock in a concealed location. Besides my old teammates only a select few have seen it. It was part of my intiation for my college soccer team.
  • Don, I hope I did not offend you with the NC comment. It was just meant as a jab in the side. Dx may be only a NY acronym. I'm not sure. He told me about the study about two months ago but I haven't heard anything since.
  • My brother in-law is a medical doctor from NC. NC stands for North Carolina. x;-) Here in NY we have some strange acronyms but thats an entirely different thread.

  • I started this thread and I am even tired of seeing it.....please let it die in peace!!!!!!
  • I try to not view these as personal attacks, they are people sharing their opinion. It is good to hear all sides of a debate rather we agree or not. However, I think this thread has run its course.

  • Great thought Don, I never thought of it from that perspective. In many European countries people greet each other by kissing. Regardless, if anyone at all is uncomfortable, we should address it. I know my spouse would not like it, and just knowi…
  • I agree with most of the other posts. This is not appropriate behavior and I wanted to add one more comment. Men being the masculine creatures that we are may not be comfortable with this behavior but will not complain because we don't want to loo…
  • At one of my old jobs, we used to use Kronos and that fed directly into our ADP payroll system. We had about 200 employees using this system. All of the others entered time sheets. All adjustments were made Monday mornings.
  • Here in NY you can do them for free on the internet and it only takes about 2 minutes to complete. I also agree that you should only do them on employees who will be driving on company time. Company vehicles are expensive to maintain, I would look…
  • We have a rated system for meals. $10/day breakfast, $25/day lunch and $75/day dinner. We also pay up to $300/night for a hotel room. We are a little higher than most because most of our travel is to NY city.
