Should we lower our standard of living? Absolutely not. Should we adopt a recurring amnesty program every decade? You know, those that made it in and cannot be caught and returned get to stay - for $2,000 no less? Again, not a good solution. Sh…

The saga continues. Today I heard the debate is continueing. We have an estimated 11,000,000 illegals in the country. Politicians and others are hopeless that we can find and deport these folks. Now they want to charge them $2,000 each to become…

Overall I agree that no two candidates are exactly equal, however, if two candidates are very close, one that follows up will get some brownie points with me. Follow-up is important with many of our jobs, specially with communication amongst staff…

After they had been married for 40 years, Ole and Lena decided to go on a trip. When they got to Fargo, Ole pulled over to fill up with gas. The attendant came over to the window and asked Ole, "What'll it be?" Lena, being very hard of hearing as…

Larry, I thought you were going to introduce Olie and Lina somewhere in that story.x;-)

I think I'll join the rant. There are several issues in play in this discussion: Work ethic, welfare, illegal immigration, consumerism (is that a real word?) and capitalism. The fact that our brand of capitalism works so well has attracted immigr…

Congrats Mandy - hope they know how good an HR person they are getting. Do overs for me would include a heavier involvement in recruiting and interviewing - picking good people starts at the beginning of the process. Good luck.

Congrats!

Have you been talking to my wife again?

I don't pay attention to them, unless they are raised in areas where I have family and/or friends. By the time I find out about any change, it is usually changed back. Reno has not been the target that Las Vegas has been - so it does not seem to d…

marc - my first name, without capitalizing the m. A small m is a much lower profile than the capitalized M. Keeping the low profile was supposed to minimize the target opportunities. That part did not work as well as I had hoped.

I did not know that 911 was for customer service emergencies - you learn something new everyday.#-o

Too funny! I could not stop laughing. I don't know if the guy's laugh was making me do it, or the images I was getting from the descriptions. Good one.

Yes, but he is likely to be the "companion" and not by choice. While that may be a fitting "end" to being found guilty, I think he would turn a bedsheet into a noose soon enough, and take that way out.
-
He is guilty and will Moonwalk his way right out of this one. But if he was found guilty - I suspect he is either a flight risk or a suicide candidate. He will not serve significant time behind bars.

As much of a nut job as Jackson appears to be, wouldn't it be funny if the cross examination revealed that he had purchased the children somehow, had a legal adoption, and presented the (wo)man Rowe as the mother? I am not sure how such a conspirac…

When I saw her on a news story last night, without knowing who she was, my initial reaction was that this person was a guy in drag. Then I caught the name. Didn't she give birth to two children? Hmmmm - the mystery that is Michael deepens.

These awards are always so funny - thanks for sharing.

Wile E. Coyote Considers the Obvious by John Straley, Sitka There seem to be countless routes to my well planned failures: I really thought the rocket shoes would work. And the anvil carried across the chasm on the tight wire tope seemed reasona…

To paraphrase Juliet Capulet, "A rose is a rose by any other name..." Your professional HR content contribution to the forum is valuable - I am glad it was the number and not the exercise. Welcome.

Here is an old memory - think back to when Don was having trouble logging on at home. He used the moniker Don D's Twin for some time. Perhaps he will revive that one? I don't know how many he posted under that name, but perhaps he is already tech…

Yes, except when I tried the refresh button on the Rangel post, it still showed 9996?
-
The counter is a bit difficult to track at times, but as I post this, I think he is at 9998 on the Rangel thread that he started. Mystery soon to be revealed.
-
A corollary to the Y2K syndrome? :-?
-
9934 as of this posting, with a prediction by Don on another thread that he will never reach 10,000. Speculations?

About 200 away now? Any new or revised predictions?
