  • Good Luck to All on the Smoking! We offered a chance at $50 for the Great American Smokeout. Eight employee's signed-up, not much money - but it is close to Christmas. We have some die hard smokers, we probably have 50 smokers.
  • I faxed a suspicion doctors excuse, asking them to verify it was the doctor's signature. The receptionist would only say "yes". I still wonder if it was not the employee's girlfriend writing and verifying.
  • I have the same urn for ashes. It was given to me by my assistant. I also have several cartoons that employee's have sent me, most are Catbert. There was a time they viewed HR as Evil, thanks to my predecessor. We have come a long way.
  • No doubt - a female
  • I had an applicant walk into my office, sat in one chair and put his feet in the other. When I asked him to remove his feet from my chair, he laughed and said he forgot where he was. Shortest interview of my career.
  • The Ex-spouse has to come off our plan and if they wish to continue coverage do so on COBRA. The change to your dental - might be a good reason to make a change to your medical. If you are self-insured - they could cost you quite a bit of money.
  • I had the same problem - I elected to send the letter. I also was afraid the other parent would not be aware that the child had no coverage.
  • We have a $30.00 office co-pay, $150.00 for ER, a $300.00 Deductible on in-patient with a Co-pay of $25.00 on in-patient days 2 - 6.
  • We have the same tiers of coverage and pay more for our family plans than any other. I think it would be like someone taking coverage and someone else waiving it - you don't have to give them the difference in the coverage they are waiving.
  • I had the same problem. What started as my attempt to change employee's view about HR, turned into an extreme dependancy for me to do even the simplest of tasks. With cut backs that took our HR Department from three to me, it was impossible to ha…
  • I have sent her a couple certified letters which she won't sign for. We heard through the grapevine she was working elsewhere - we confirmed and she continue to ignore. I would prefer to take this as lesson learned - but one of the owners want to…
  • FMLA notification sent with little green card and returned with signature on card and Leave Form. Bungle - that is a great way to put it. What angers me the most is I did my part of the process as directed to me. When he didn't do his - they lay …
  • Generally I am in the room - but the Manager actually states the employee has been terminated. I then can inform of ex-employee of benefits. There are also times when I have had to intervene and conclude the meeting. There are cases like this wh…
  • The upper management wanted the manager to tell him. I have never met the man in person and they thought the manager should do it. I told upper management that my lesson learned is I should have made the call and not relied on some else. Thanks!
  • I was going down each part of the poster and thinking the same thing - I acutally have extra here I will give them. Thanks for the help.
  • Our local Chamber of Commerce is holding a job fair - they sent out an e-mail asked us to forward to colleauges - word spread fast.
  • Thanks - I also found one on the SHRM Website.
  • Our sites that require 24/7 coverage work 4 on 4 off. They rotate days and nights every couple of weeks. Some weeks they get 48 hours and some 36. They would work M, T, W, Th one week and then T, W, Th, Fr the next. Everyone seems to really lik…
  • I scheduled a meeting with my boss, made my argument, good employee, we have grown, projects, etc... - I gave him a % for my increase - he said no and gave me more walked out with an 8% increase. I did not threaten, just stated facts. Good Luck
  • Our bonuses are basedon goals and objectives. If you meet your goals and objectives you get a bonus - typically 10 - 15% of your base salary.
  • I agree - why do they even ask. I don't and have expressed my concern for the bible verse that is on the intranet. I fall on deaf ears. Thanks
  • Thanks for the information - we are currently with ING and have a TPA. The TPA is terrible - ING is okay. We have it narrowed down to Fidelity and Metlife. Many years ago with were with America's Fund - not too terrible impressed with the service…
  • I always ask for a notarized statement from the spouse - stating they are aware they are being dropped. Most of the time it's not a problem. Our agent suggested this route.
  • Our policy states that they may only accept the same type of business courtsey that may give. We don't give vehicles, trips, etc. - which means they cannot receive them. So far this policy has worked well.
  • I also agree with having a discussion with her. Lunch time appointments for the treatments taking her to Boston are not an option, I would however recommend that when possible she have the blood drawn on her lunch or take the latest appointment in…
  • Thanks for the responses and no remarks about my ability to spell Georgia. x:-8
  • Great Way to end a exhausting couple of days. Have a Good Weekend!
  • How much cash on hand do you keep and have you balanced the books lately?
