"Wow, Does Don's reputation really precede him by that much? or were you being light hearted and not putting down the rest of us formites?" YIKES, no harm intended, truly....Go with the lighthearted plan, that was how it was intended to be taken-

Oh my/:) What timing- I am sitting here with over 50 time cards - I have made numerous phone calls to employee's who either did not clock correctly, or just did not bother to clock at all..I have had numerous discussions here with our COO regarding …

DITTO that th-up Unless you have too, I would not give him a severance package. Sounds like he has just stuck around for the ride. Either a sales person is motivated to make money, or they are not-Hard to teach an old dog "new tricks"...

"None of the severance letters I've initiated have had witness requirements; but yours WAS drafted, after all, by an attorney, who felt it was needed" The only severance agreements that our attorney advised us to have a witness signature line on w…

Our company has a "no gambling" policy also. What ee's do on their own time is fine-no money is collected on site for lottery pools or any other reason- It is in our employee handbook also.

If an ee requests to see their personnel or medical file, I set-up a time, I am present with the ee and the files-Any questions are written down and I exlain that they will be answered within 5 business days-Sometimes this is necessary if I have to …

I had the same issue, particularly with our Managers-As for using their personal cards, that was stopped completely. They have company cards and it is their responsibility and part of their job to make sure I have a complete breakdown of every expen…

I had this happen not to long ago-My bank actually called and asked if it was o.k. to cash the ee's check as it was the day before check date-Since most of our ee's have direct deposit, this does not come up often-I would go after the bank to remove…

Thanks Don, I agree absolutely! And yes, we do drug screen!

Just saw how old this post is, my input may be too late, but, here it is-Had the same situation with an ee-He tested positive, I bowed to his Manager and gave him the benefit of the doubt, he was not terminated.Three weeks later he took a company ca…

"They play favorites, have no idea or comprehension of how and why things should be done in a specific, consistent and logical manner." Boy, oh boy! I read this and thought "darn, that's EXACTLY what I deal with daily. I think I may be in exactly t…
