I don't think I've done any of these. At least not in my present reality... now, if I happened to be in my alternate reality all bets are off. x;-)

Hear, hear, Shadowfax. x:-) There's an elderly gentleman from the VFW (I think) who sells those paper poppies outside my neighborhood grocery this time every year. I always buy one every time I go in and thank him. He's a Korean War vet.

No wonder I get so much rest at work. My mind is idle. x;-)

It's the opposite of crookedbackwardness and can be found under the C's, which comes before P, which stands for proberb!
-
Yeah, but I'm sure HRQ appreciates my candor and straightforwardness in helping her. x:-)
-
These are really funny, HRQ. But I think you need to spell-check your thread title. What the heck is a proberb, anyway? x;-)

I agree, but I knew what the post was going to be about because I have seen NOTHING over the past 20 hours that WASN'T about Fantasia and American Idol. Good thing I don't necessarily care about what's happening in the world right now, because I wo…

Don't know what a gazing ball is, I've only seen a bottle tree in a picture of some guy on this Forum sitting on a motorcycle. I'm sure that flamingos are prohibited by city ordinance - but those little lawn jockeys aren't, strangely enough.

He told me last winter while he was trying to convince his wife to come out to Oregon to shovel my sidewalk so I could get out of the house. x:-)

But are they deluxe 3-holers? I know for a fact that Ray sands his seats regularly to keep them nice and smooth and splinter-free. x;-)
-
I'd definitely be interested - but it would be a heckuva commute every day for me! x:-)
-
"We have one of the lowest housing costs in the country." Is that because of the lack of indoor plumbing, Ray? x;-)
-
Around $180,000 in the Portland-Metro area. Plus the highest gas prices in the nation, right now. x:-(
-
I knew it was someone illustrious. Can't imagine a lawyer coming up with something so profound all on his own. x;-)

Rad, I think there are any number of US citizens who feel the same as you. Reminds me of a 60 Minutes episode years and years ago about Americans who emigrated to the Soviet Union, not because of their political beliefs but because they didn't feel…

Well said, Lisa. Interesting comment from Brandon Mayfield during a news conference the other day - something like those who trade security for freedom will ultimately lose both. I'm sure someone famous said that once, but I still think it's true.
-
You are right, Ray. I misspoke. I'm sure they told him WHY he was in custody (he was being held as a material witness), but he was not charged with anything. And under the statute he could be held INDEFINITELY without being charged - and somethin…

"Don't sweat the fact he lost two weeks salary, he probably has enought to retire on now and can probably make up in one week what he lost." It's not the two weeks' salary that's really the issue here (although from the news footage of the way the …

Security precautions at airports are merely a minor inconvenience compared to being arrested, kept in a confinement facility with no charges being lodged against you, possibly held incommunicado (in the case of the Guantanamo detainees), having your…

Lawyers, as officers of the court, have their fingerprints on file, along with anyone who's ever been in the service or had a background investigation conducted on them.

Y'know, Rad, I'm sure glad I'm not in Boston. I got really irritated when John Kerry visited Portland last week and interfered with my commute home to the point where I was pushing through Kerry supporters in a not-very-nice fashion and using not-s…

We conservative Democrats object to your suggestion, Don. x:-)

What would you use, Mel? Plastic lighthouses? x;-)
-
Don't you remember what Atticus Finch said? It's a sin to kill a mockingbird. x:-)
-
So how much is eHarmony paying you and Cinderella to plug their website? x;-) I'm sure Internet dating doesn't carry the stigma it used to, but the problem with it is that it interferes with one's ability to become a frustrated, bitter, cantankerou…
-
Not true, Cin. I've dated women younger than you before (and I don't mean decades ago, either). x;-)
-
I can't answer that because the thought of the jacket color controvery triggers the response which requires the attendants to strap me down and feed me meds through an IV in order to stabilize me. x;-)
-
Yeah, but I was in uniform and the AF frowns on wearing bermuda shorts. x;-)
-
We all have legs, HRQ. Most of us just have the courtesy not to expose them and send everyone running for the exits. x;-) Welcome to the Rogue's Gallery, Baloonman! x:-)

Well I never played football, Marc, so I could be wrong with the analogy. I lettered in Varsity Twister. x;-)
