I made the recipe Wednesday night and it was a hit!!! I made one or two minor changes out of necessity. Don D would yell at me for this but... I used one can of ROTEL diced tomatoes with green chilies (drained) instead of the 2 can's of green chi…

I've read this recipe somewhere before and it sounded just as good then. I think I'll try it tonight with the in-laws and out-laws coming over for dinner...Thanks! Cheryl C.

Thanks guys, no further explaination needed. x:o

calf fries? fried baby cow pieces? :-? I'm not a big meat eater so I'm just trying to understand. Would they go well with Don's rice (minus the mushrooms of course)?

Safety, I have never eaten oysters from anywhere and don't intend to. Since the day my big brother told me that eating oysters and clams was like eating snot...never had the hankering to try them. Sorry :-S Cheryl C.

>I actually cannot think of anything that I won't >eat at least once, except maybe spider. Careful...there was an old lady that swallowed a spider (or was that a fly and then a spider?)

Don, love this recipe but...Shrooms are nasty whether they're canned, raw, whole, chewed or smoked. To me they taste like you're eating rubber and do you know what they're grown in? eeeeuuwwww.... Cheryl C.

This sounds great. I'm going to mix some up to take on our trip to Mexico this week. Maybe I could blend them in with pretzels and corn chex. Ole' Got to have something to eat on the plane you know. A 4-oz bag of peanuts and 1/2 can of soda just …

It was all of 8 degrees above zero this morning when I left my house. Sorry about that folks, we Northerners will be sharing our frosty temps with y'll the next few days. I had forgotten this recipe but you KNOW I'll be making this for supper. …

Goya does sell a Sofrito but I think they put tomatoe in theirs and I don't. You can buy it in either bottles or in a frozen white tub. I make my own but it's not my favorite chore so I make a whole lot at one time and portion it in small Tupperwa…

Yep, it's that time again to have some hot soup for the family 2-3 times a week. This recipe remains one of our favorites though it has evolved somewhat in the Cardenas Home. I no longer put in the potatoes because, frankly, I've forgotten to bu…

Not for me sorry. I like Morningstar Farms, Green Giant, or Boca burger crumbles. No grease and much less fat. The flavor is good too! Everyone that tried it (family and co-workers who eat beef) liked it and I didn't even tell them that it wasn't …

I never did tell you about when I tried the recipe. It was cold outside and I was in no mood to brainstorm for dinner so there I was looking for something to fix for supper and your recipe fell out of my recipe cupboard (yes, over the stove and jam…

Before HR, my first line of work is Admin.Asst. So I tend to be too literal at times. Anyway, I'm planning to try your recipe as soon as I get back from Maine this weekend. Cheers!

Don, in your last line of instructions you wrote to "stir in Rotel, mixed vegetables and potatoes..." I don't see mixed vegetables in your list of ingredients. Is this a type-o or did you put some other veggies in the soup?

Don, I agree with your wife. I think you'd just wash the orage well to get rid of any insecticide and then cut it in half and take the seeds out. I liked the recipe because it got some substance to it and not the same old jellied cranberry sauce. …

I think I'll try to plant some this year too! I learned "companion" planting a few years ago. If you plant catnip near your eggplant plants, it'll keep the pesky beetles off your eggplants. It really worked for me! My sister (who lived in another s…

Theresa, I wash the eggplants and then slice them up into 1/4" slices. I dip each slice in egg mixture (beaten eggs with spices) and then they're covered in bread crumbs. They get baked at 350 until they're golden brown on both sides. I like them a …

Hey Judy! I put my order in with my oldest daughter too. I'm still patiently waiting. She's not married yet at 24, so I guess I have to 'really' be patient. :-) Cheryl

You've got quite a mix in NY, from mean old Buffalo to nice Rochester. I was expecting to see NYC in the lower numbers.
