ruffian: n : a cruel and brutal fellow [syn: bully, tough, hooligan, roughneck, rowdy, yob, yobo, yobbo] or, as Don said, Old Fart.
-
LOL...didn't think of it that way. I know I can't go the whole morning without a bio break. Poor little guy! Cheryl C.

My mom told me that the moment the poor guy came out of his hole (Phil) he was picked up and showed off in front of lights and cameras. He was so scared that he peed all over the ruffian. Then they declared that he saw his shadow.

Yep, Sponge Bob can get a little happy at times but he's hardly an undercover agent for Bin Laden.

Larry, lay off the caffeine man!

Hence the saying that "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder"

I still don't see your photo Gene, but I have it on good authority that James is out filming the new DVD's. I asked Christy nicely and she updated mine. ;;)

I'm no longer tanned in Mexico so I guess I should resubmit a more realistic photo.

Time for a new one?

I'm not a skiier (surprise!) but no, our mt. peaks can't match those. Mt. Washington is the highest peak in the Northeast (6,888' above sea level). Bretton Woods is the ski resort at Mt. Washington so you can check out this link to get the flavor…

Can't handle the 'elevation'? It's beautiful here, that's why. Mt Washington area boasts many good ski areas.

I lived in Texas for one year and it's definitely in THE South. As far as NH, yes, it's alligned nicely with VT, ME and MA, and NY is in there somewhere too. Cheryl C.

Beagle, I mean no disrespect but I think your admiration may be a bit misguided. Slogan should enroll in the elementary map reading class himself (HRinTX=South, HRinNH=North) /:) Oh BTW Leslie... th-up
-
Thanks Slogan, but: 1. I can read maps and make a darn good co-pilot 2. You are mistaking me for another forumite 3. I don't tape things from the tv and my clock is on the wall 4. I'm in counseling for this (jk) 5. I need to lose 5 lbs? 6. …

The things we get talking about on the forum... Well, I'll chime in here. My husband was watching a program on the discovery channel about an African tribe that gets everything they need from their cattle. It was so nasty that I couldn't watch it…

You must be pretty warm in AZ for you to think of food over clothing. It was -7 on my way to work this morning.

>But, people from the North are always Northern. And proud of it too!
-
I stand corrected...sigh...
-
Don, since you asked...Central American is south of Texas which is in North America. Mexico is in Central America which is north of South America. But I beg to differ with you about Kentucky and the Virginias being Yankee.

Tame in Spanish is "doméstico" which sounds too much like domesticated to me...UGH...

His plight has been versed Poor Ray wound up cursed. Not 2 feet of snow but 4 came nigh 1/2 way up his front door. He'll have time now to rehearse.

A Lady is she who as sweet as can be Tells truthes with a smile while gritting her teeth all the while Don't mess with her, Ray, Or I'll have to say You're not a gentle man by a mile...

We plowed 12+ inches from our driveway yesterday. It is officially winter now. Here's a limerick I found online...it's more like a tongue twister and fun to say. A tutor who taught on the flute Tried to teach two young tooters to toot. Said the t…

LOL...uh..the cute little red/white/blue uniform should have been a dead giveaway.

Well, I've shared many a group hug, but rarely a group cry. I've had to learn to keep that emotion to myself.

When you laugh, the world laughs with you. When you cry, you cry alone.

My grandmother told me once that she got a beating by her mother for spooning with her date. Sounds like they simply didn't know their table ettiquette.

This is a tragic story but I'm glad the jerk was apprehended after he was shot.
