The AP has been tripping all over itself for quite awhile now. It's understandable, given the difficulty the entire 'old media' industry has had coping with the Internet. AP has even threatened to sue Google, for example, b…

Here is a policy from HRhero.com. If you are a newsletter subscriber, you have access to many sample policies and forms. Anyone who would like to know more about those, send me an e-mail or pm and I'll walk you through how to find them.

I did know they delivered. But something about the act of freezing and shipping it robs it of its magic. Sad times, indeed.

Here -- just in case you need it -- http://www.loumalnatis.com/ And I know what you mean about velveeta on a cracker. My stepfather is from St. Louis, and he loved that stuff. Pizza has been my favorite food my whole life (well, cheese …

So we're gonna talk Chicago pizza? I say Lou Malnati's. The first time I had their deep dish, butter crust sausage pizza, I knew I'd died and gone to pizza heaven. Welcome back Still Need Coffee!
Thanks for responding so quickly Celeste! I am really excited to see what new things you guys have in store for the Forum. And - am I losing it (there are those who know me that say I 'lost it' long ago), or has Andrew made…
-
Nae and KSR, I wanted to chime in and let you know that we hear you! In fact, Jim Robb, Andrew, Chel, and the gang have been working on the mechanics to open up the Forum to many more HR professionals. It may take another few weeks, as we want to b…

Sharon, If you want to make up some of those sauces and bring them to work, I'd be happy to help you pick the one you want to use for Mother's Day! mmmmmmmmmmmm . . . BBQ Celeste

You also have a white paper available HRhero.com (it's free, you just have to give us an e-mail). You can get "Five Alternatives to a RIF" at http://www.hrhero.com/whitepapers/index.cgi?wprif Celeste

I asked our in-house COBRA expert and she agreed with what has been posted and had this to add: All qualifying beneficiaries need to receive the general notice, not just the employees, because the beneficiaries also get a second chance to sign up …

Frank, Are you having log in issues with the forum or hrhero.com/lc? We had thought we had the forum log in issues fixed. Please, anyone who is having any sort of issues, let us know, and we'll do our best to get them fixed. You can e-mail me at [em…

I'll have to go with the women who wear low cut pants with short shirts. If you aren't in a music video, this just isn't a good look. PS Joannie-- so can I wear my wrinkled t-shirt and sleep pants if I don't have my hair, nails, or make-up done?

We could start a "fashion nightmares" thread over on har-de-har-har. Of course, sometimes I feel like one of those myself.
-
We are working on this, I promise! Can I get a show of hands of who is still having problems staying logged on to the forum?
-
Is anyone still having problems not staying logged in? I worked with someone this morning who was having the problem and wanted to see if anyone else was so that we can get all the kinks ironed out.
-
I'm looking into how to do this. I'll let you know what I find out. And Paul, it's no problem -- although I have to give 99% of the credit to the tech guys here. I'm just sorting and relaying the messages.

Just a note: I did get a notification that there was a new post in this thread when NaeNae posted. So clicking on the "Thread Tools" option and then choosing "Subscribe to this Thread" will give you notifications each time someone makes a new post …
Is there a way to be notified if this post gets additional responses?
If you click on the "Thread Tools" option, you can "Subscribe to this Thread." I believe that should work. I tried it, so I'll let you know how it …

The forum remembered me this morning. How about you? Are you guys staying logged in?
-
When I leave the website it does not remember me when I re-enter. It used to automatically log me on when I returned so I did not have to put my user name and password in each time I returned. I did check the "remember me" but…
I like the new look. I think it will take a while for us to figure it out, though. Celeste, are you going to do one-on-one tutoring for the technologically challenged among us?
I'll do my best. Actually, I'll probabl…

John moderates his comments for the blog. I've sent him an e-mail, and we'll get it figured out. Celeste

Are the comments missing from a thread on the Employers Forum about John's blog or are they missing from the blog itself at www.employmentlawpost.com/theword? What post are they missing from? I don't know of any comments that have been d…

Just wanted to let you know that we are still working on this issue. I'll let you know what's going on as soon as we figure it out. Celeste

We are working on finding out what happened to your daily digest now. I'll keep you updated. Celeste

Hey Paul, Are you a Lost fan? If so, I can give you another reason to read The Stand. This past weekend, I bought a book that tracks the show's literary, movie, television, pop culture, and other references and influences. What convinced me to buy t…

I reviewed "The Levity Effect" on our book blog (you know I was just waiting for my chance to plug that, right?). You can find the whole review at http://employmentlawpost.com/resources/2008/10/15/the-levity-effect/ Basically, the authors…

I haven't been as big of a fan of the Bachman books, either. The Regulators was interesting. I'd just read Desperation (I picked up The Regulators b/c I knew it was somehow tied to Desperation), so I spent a good deal of my time reading The Regulato…

I'll play. I just finished "The Levity Effect" by Adrian Gostick and Scott Christopher. I just started "Goodbye, Amelia: Fictions" by Simone Felice and for the past few years or so, I've also been working through the collections of Hunter S. Thomp…
