hiring background checks - not hired for felony indictment?!!?

in a background checks during the hiring process, will an arrest and indictment for a felony show up? will companies not hire due to felony indictments?

not convictions, but charges.

    It is possible that indictments will show up on a background check.  Different companies have different policies as to when they will disqualify a candidate for a position based on the background check.  Also state law plays a role. Many states will only allow you to make a hiring decision based on convictions and not charges or indictments and also how relevant the conviction is to the job.  (i.e. a bank would be justified when not hiring someone that has been convicted of stealing money or fraud related to money because money is the nature of the business).
