I am fairly new to the HR world and thus rely on help from certain vendors regarding mandatory postings, etc.

Does anyone else use Personnel Concepts? What has your experience been with the company?

I continue to receive calls about new posting requirements but am having a hard time finding information on whether or not I should purchase these new kits. The last call was about a new NRLA regulation. Any ideas?

Most, if not all, of the required postings can be obtained for free any more, so I stopped buying our posters some years back. There are a number of online sources, including a poster advisor at [URL="http://www.dol.gov"]www.dol.gov[/URL], that help you figure out what needs to be posted. I also get state-specific information from my state DOL website. You can get the new free NLRB poster at [URL="http://www.nlrb.gov/poster"][FONT=Calibri][COLOR=#800080]http://www.nlrb.gov/poster[/COLOR][/FONT][/URL].

Personnel Concepts sends out letters each year to everyone within our organization whose name they can find, I think hoping that someone will not realize that they already have the most current posters and will end up ordering some from them. Since I see no point in paying for something we already get for free, I tell everyone to just toss them in the garbage when they get them.

CNGHR is correct. You can get state and federal posters for free from the sates and federal DOL web sites. But, you have to be very diligent about checking those sites regularly to make sure you find out when posters are updated, replaced, etc. Some states make it a challenge to find where they store their required poster information on their websites. Some states offer downloaded images you can print and post and some just provide a phone number and/or address you can use to request copies of their posters.

You can get everything for free, but the all-in-ones are nifty to have. M Lee Smith's are just as nifty as Personnel Concepts, and the MLS people are not irritating.

Personnel Concepts is the only vendor that keeps G. Neil from being the most annoyingly intrusive. They're right up there with those people who try to bill you for unordered toner cartridges.

Speaking of the NLRB employee rights poster requirement, here is the latest information on where it stands. You are still required to have the poster up by April 30, but the legal back-and-forth is continuing. tk
