Hello!

Which areas of the credit union are involved in the Compliance Department?

Where does a Compliance Officer land in an organization? Would it be under Operations?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

It depends on the type of compliance! In our bank (bank vs. credit union, I know, I know) we have a Loan Compliance Officer, a GLBA/Reg CC compliance person, and a BSA officer. One falls under loans, the others under operations.

Bank here... we have one Compliance Officer. This position reports directly to the COO.

Bank here as well -- our compliance department falls under our EVP.

Bank here as well - Compliance Officer reports to EVP, who reports to CEO.

Another bank chiming in...our Compliance Officer does all compliance for both the operations and lending sides of the organization, and reports to the CFO who reports to the CEO.

Our Compliance Officer reports directly to the CEO. I wouldn't do it any other way.
