$3.599 earlier this week. Took $33.14 to put 3/4 of a tank of gas in my 11-year-old Corolla. I never dreamed I would own a car that could hold $30+ of gas.
When I started at MLSP six years ago, gas prices around here had just hit $1.15 and my former coworkers asked me if I was moving because gas prices had shot up and were so high they wouldn't want to pay the cost. Ah, the good old days.
And on a side note, food prices are crazy. $1.59 for a green bell pepper. Not a red one or even an organic on. A plain old non-organic green one. Around here they are usually about 50 to 79 cents. This year, the container veggie garden on the deck is expanding.
We just published Celeste Blackburn's great new white paper on how employers can help employees deal with high gas prices. It includes information on some of the usual suspects - telecommuting and compressed workweeks -- but also covers options for employers who must have their employees on-site working set schedules.
