What if the resume is someone that is way overqualified for the position? i.e. we posted for a supervisor and received resumes from plant managers. Would you still track them?
What about candidates that are overqualified? Do you still have to track them as applicants? We received several resumes that I know are way over our salary that is offered.
We're a federal contractor, also. We do not accept unsolicited resumes. I post specific openings, review the resumes I receive, select the qualified candidates for interviews, provide an application with a self-identity sheet. I track only those I interview using Excel spreadsheets - applicant log, new hires, etc. then I use these sheets for annual Affirmative Action Plan. Works for me.
