Software Recommendations Needed

I am looking into Performance Appraisal software. I've already searched the forum and didn't find much.

If you use such software, what do you use, and how has it worked for you?

We use SuccessFactors. It's a great program in theory - you can use it for reviews, goal management, etc, but it is EXTREMELY cumbersone and slow. It is not very intuitive, and adminstration portal isn't the most user friendly. We are not going to renew the service.

When I got here, we were using Performance Pro. It was mostly good, and managers liked it a lot because it sent them periodic reminders when they had reviews coming up.

Unfortunately, my predecessor left without authorizing payment for renewal and they shut us off without warning about a month into my tenure. It should have been a simple phone call, apology, and wire transfer away from being turned back on, but a combination of hot tempers here and a bad CSR there put us on the path to a new system.

Their system itself was good, though, and I know a lot of people who are very happy with it.

We use People Admin. It handles our application process, our job descriptions, and now our performance evaluations.

Started with Applications and job descriptions organized the work so well that we eliminated a job. Our performance reviews are tied to our job descriptions and our authorized positions.:ball and chain::ball and chain:

I have been using Performance Now put out by KnowledgePoint for about 7 years. It is very easy to use and is liked by both management and personel. It was a steal 7 years ago for $150.00 but I'm not sure what the software would cost now.

You rate the performance on a high/low 5 point scale and the software generates clear and effective supporting text. It automatically calculates the total rating, gives you a check list of appropriate suggestions for improvement, and also includes an "advice" feature that alerts you when you should provide concrete examples to back up a high or low score.

Yes, Descriptions Now is by Knowledgepoint, and we used to have an employee handbook program by them called Policies Now. I've never tried Performance Now but most of us are fairly happy with the way our current performance evaluation system works and I always say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Is that eAppraisal you are using? That's one of the softwares I was going to investigate. Does it reside on your servers? What software are you using with it? What kind of problems (What? Problems with software?) did you run into?

We have Abra, and it supposedly works with eAppraisal. Any feedback you can give me is very much appreciated.
