What time is it?

In which time zone does this forum operate? The posts say CST but that does not appear to be the case.

I can deal with a time zone other than my own, but one that is supposed to be an hour earlier than mine but is actually two hours earlier is just too much math for me to do.

I'm easily confused by the time of day, so please help.

The Forum is on CST. However, for unknown reasons the Forum closk is sometimes incorrect. I'll ask our techies to look into it.

Has anyone ever been to "Demon Dogs" in Chicago? It's a tiny hot dog place underneath the El platform at Fullerton. The owner is a former manager of Chicago and plays their music non-stop in that place. It's cute at first, but then begins to be enough to make you get your dog somewhere else.

Also, I never got that 25 or 6 to 4 reference. What the heck is that?

25 or 6 to 4 confused me for a long time too. We played it in pep band for basketball games in college waaaaay back in the early 70s and it was one of our favorites. You haven't lived until you've a section of obnoxious trombone players blat out the sixteen note pattern at the beginning. Anyway, the story behind the song is about a song writer with writers block and it's set at a point in time around 3:34 or 3:35AM and the songwriter is wondering if anything will come to him. 3:35 is the same as 25 minutes to 4AM and 3:34 is 26 minutes to 4AM. Get it? 25 minutes or 26 minutes to 4AM. 25 or 6 to 4.

I always heard that 25 or 6 to 4 was a reference to something much darker - shooting up heroin. Exactly how it refers to it, I don't know, maybe something to do with needle size?
