I'm fairly new to this forum, and so far I am finding a lot of insightful--and dare I say, often curious and entertaining, but always interesting--information. I do have one question, which I'm sure has that special "duh" quality most will recognize. Nevertheless, since I've been unsuccessful figuring this out on my own, I have determined to humble my pride; for whatever reason, I am simply unable to see the presumably obvious.
Why do some of the posting notices appear to be engulfed in flames and others aren't?
There, now I've asked. The rest is dependent on your kindness and generosity.
Thanks.

Welcome aboard! Not a "duh" question at all - I've had several people ask. The fire notation indicates a hot topic ... in other words, it has had enough replies (it takes 8, I think) to the original message to signify it's pretty hot.

See you good HR colleagues later, among the spacious halls and comfortable discussion rooms of our virtual abode. (I trust the rooms are padded)!!

...and as for being cut off at the knees; if at some point I unwittingly step too far over the fence and consequently offend the guard dogs in the next yard, I can take it. I truly don't mind such encounters--as long as their teeth are sharp (i.e., to the point). What really tightens my chain is to be attacked by self-appointed guardians of linear thinking whose intentions may be in-link with their own backyard experiences, but who have neglected to polish their pearlies on the file of broader contemporary issues.

I can tell already that you'll be reminded more than once that your break is over and you should leave the exercise yard and return to your cell................Aren't all of our thoughts results or reflections of our own backyard experiences? I have no one else's to speak from. Paul assured us earlier that none of that California-think found it's way up to Oregon.
I do recall the double-beagle baying at the border. And he's right; the bears do have sharper teeth in Oregon!
(p.s. Thanks for the fun. But you're right; they're calling me back in from the exercise yard as I key. Work ever awaits!)
So Don, the truth comes out! You don't trust us, eh?
I'm now engulfed in the very flames I asked about!! Nothing better than first-hand experience to get a point home, huh!
