I just thought I would send in a note to tell all you hard working forumites that I intend to retire at the end of the week.

I have really enjoyed the comments, advice, controversy and arguments that have made this forum what it is.

Good luck to all of you in your future endeavors. I certainly hope my advice and thoughts have been of some value to some of you over the years.

Retire?! Best of luck to you in your soon-to-be new position of Retiree. Do you have specific plans like more fishing, traveling, spending time with family and friends or just doing nothing for a long while? Watch out for that long list of honye-do's that has been accmulating over the years. Hope you have a great time as an official Retiree. Do you have your AARP card activited?
I can hardly wait myself.

I do enjoy fishing and hope to do some. We are the sandwich generation squeezed between needy children and parents. My mother needs a good deal of care and is getting almost to the crisis point. That is the immediate issue. I hope the fishing kicks in later.

WT, I remember seeing you around here for a long time, but you just didn't post that often. I just did a search and see you had posts dating back to 2002 - that was a year before I joined up.

I hope you enjoy your retirement and that it lasts a looooong time.

Sounds like from your response you have issues (other than yourself) to address first with your retirement. Isn't it hell getting old and having to play parent to parents. I hope these duties aren't too straining (physically, emotionally, and financially). You are a good child to take your retirement to do this.
I do hope you find your retirement fulfilling for you and that you are able to work some time in for yourself. Best of luck.

There are seasons in life when we receive and seasons we are called on to give. Both are necessary and good as it is all part of life. I will try to give faithfully and not count the cost.

I will miss all of your opinions, regardless of whether I agree or disagree. I should think HR Hero might be gracious enough to donate a 6 month tapering off period to give us all time to adjust. xclap
