Flood

We're getting hit with major flooding, potentially worse than Agnes of 1972, for those who remember that. Many businesses are shut down, I helped shut down our plant then went home - with a few detours. The river breached the levy nearby to where I live but my place sits up higher so I'm OK. Others nearby are being evacuated.

The sun is shining brightly right now.

Lots of helicopters flying around, probably full of politicians surveying the damage so they can claim credit for doing something. I anticipate I'll have to take some alternate routes to work tomorrow.

What you need are ACTORS. Actors can solve any problem. I don't think Sean Penn is busy. Maybe he can bring his little boat that he used to "rescue" people during Katrina.

Ah, the governor showed up yesterday. The river is a block from my house and normally it is 1/3 of a mile away. Fours houses exploded and one floated down the river right near where our IT guy lives, I have no idea if one was his or how he is or where he is. More storms are expected today and tomorrow, so it's not over yet.

So far, so good here in Richmond. My boyfriend's parents in D.C. had their lowest level of their home flooded (they have a tri-level with an additional 4th lower level). The James is rising as we 'read' though. They are calling for more rain in our area today also. Good luck up there!!!

We had a few hours reprieve from the rain but now we're having a bad T-storm and our lights have been flickering.

It's hot and dry in Phoenix.

I feel for you guys. The worst "disasters" we get are dust storms. They get pretty bad sometimes but nobody loses their home over it.
